What do you like to eat – and what will we eat in the future?

This game is the result of a one-week workshop at DOCK, Vienna (March 30 – April 3, 2026), where a group of young participants (ages 8–13) explored the connections between food, climate, and everyday life together with the design & games collective studioplayces and local experts.

They looked at how food is produced, processed, distributed, and consumed – and how all of this is linked to climate change. Through discussions, excursions, and hands-on activities, they built up their own “expert knowledge”, which then became the foundation for this game.

The result is an experimental, immersive experience that brings together their ideas, questions, and visions of possible food futures in a playful, interactive world.

The original project was designed as a physical-digital installation and is exhibited for from April, 17th to June, 20th 2026 at Das Weiße Haus in Vienna. There, the game is controlled through NFC-based interaction: physical objects are placed onto a reader to trigger different in-game content and perspectives.

The project is part of the Klima Biennale Wien and will also be presented at the KLIMASTRÖME Festival in Hamburg (July 25–26, 2026).

Funded by Bundesministerium für Wohnen, Kunst, Kultur, Medien und Sport (Austria) and  Elbkulturfonds der Behörde für Kultur und Medien der Stadt Hamburg (Germany).
